Garden Tour Week 3

What a beautiful streak of weather we have had this Spring here in Pennsylvania. It has been the perfect amount of rain and sunshine and low humidity. I hope the summer weather is as delightful. And signaling the end of spring is fireflies.

Cotton candy clouds all week in the sky. Perfection.

The fireflies started appearing a few nights ago. It’s one of the things I love most about the East Coast. The magical twinkling all over the yard, and outside the bedroom window all night is as mesmerizing today as it was when we moved here 13 years ago. I know when they appear, it’s about to get much warmer, and that’s great for all the new plants in the ground.

I think I’ve got just about everything planted for round one of the summer garden. I am going to try to do a second wave in a few weeks, so that my garden keeps going through early fall if possible. I’m planning on building some small hoop houses over my raised beds to extend the season as long as I can. We’ll see how long I can eek out the growing season here.

Here is the link for week #3 in the garden. The seeds are all coming up, and the plants are settling in. Looking forward to some hot days to really get things going out there! Enjoy the garden tour!
