So I posted a share earlier which was pork chops with mushroom gravy from one of my favorite sites, Allrecipes, but it was for an Instant Pot dish. I LOVE my Instant Pot that my mom bought me for my birthday a few years ago, but I did this version on the stovetop and then in the oven, as I had the luxury of a little bit of time this evening.
There were some pork chops in the fridge that were first in line for being cooked and I wasn’t sure what to do with them. I don’t know about you, but I generally look through a few recipes that have the ingredients in them that I have onhand, and then cook my meal kind of mishmashing the recipes together. When my husband and I were first married I was so envious of how he could throw a dish together without even glancing at a recipe book. I started out this marriage 33 years ago with minimal cooking skills in the kitchen. I had taken one home ec class in middle school and made a wonderful creamed chicken crepe but that was about it. I could also make a mean Orange Julius drink, having worked there when I was 14 at our local mall. But that was about it.
So, I watched the Allrecipes video, and then got out all the ingredients plus a few extras. I browned the pork chops, set them aside and then sautéed the onion, mushrooms, and garlic together. I mixed up some flour (bread flour because it was a choice between that and whole wheat flour and I wasn’t sure which would taste better, or rather worse) along with some white wine and water and Roasted Garlic Better than Bouillon. I added this directly to the sautéed veggies, and cook on medium until bubbly and thickened. I have to say I really, really liked the flavor that the Garlic bouillon added. I usually use Beef or Chicken Better than Bouillon but saw this new flavor and picked it up when shopping last time.

Then I put the pork chops in a baking dish and covered with the gravy and popped it in the oven for 45 minutes. They were very thick pork chops, not the thin ones. And still I overcooked them slightly.
I highly recommend this dish and will post the list of ingredients below. I hope you like it!
