Morning Chicken Chores in the Deep Snow…brrrr!

So, old man winter has finally arrived. It’s been a very mild winter, and it’s so funny that our first real snow arrived the day before Groundhog Day. It does not surprise me that we will have six more weeks of winter, when it hadn’t really started this year at all.

Keeping chickens is easy during the summer, but winter and snow present a few extra challenges. The chickens LOVE the snow, much more so than humidity and heat so that’s good. It can just be more difficult navigating outside to get to them. But then there is usually the reward of a stunning sunrise, so it’s still all worth it.
